Medical Mission Team–Nicaragua Report
Saint Paul congregation members, Jill, Eleanor and Grace were part of a medical mission team that traveled to Nicaragua to see 854 patients over four days of clinics and give out approximately $4,000 worth of vitamins and medications. Members of Saint Paul donated items, assembled, and delivered 26 Friendship Baskets to members of our congregation and community.
Members and friends of the St Paul Lutheran Church served 69 guests at the Simpson Temple United Parish in Altoona Pa. The Agape meal, which is served twice a month, is supported by various churches throughout the area. Unused food items were given to the Altoona Emergency Shelter.
Saint Paul Outreach Committee
The Outreach Team shall consist of at least three members and an elected chair. The elected chair is responsible for recruitment of team members as necessary. This team supports the ministry of St. Paul by focusing on the areas of Evangelism and Outreach within this congregation. This team is responsible for the following functional areas, including, but not limited to:
a. Activities which support the members of St. Paul, such as prayer group, card ministry, arrangement of transportation, Friendship Baskets, etc.
b. Activities which support the greater community of State College, such as Red Cross blood drives, Interfaith Human Services, Habitat for Humanity projects, House of Care, ALSM, The Oaks, etc.
c. Activities which support the nation/world, such as ELCA World Hunger, Lutheran Disaster Relief, Operation Christmas Child, Nicaragua mission trips, etc.
d. Oversight of a team responsible for visiting first time worship visitors.
e. Lifting up food bank needs to the congregation.
