STEWARDSHIP SNIPPET —Psalm 19:14 — Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer. When we live fully to God, we want not just our outside appearance to meet with God’s approval, but even our thoughts and words. This is the prayer of a true steward/disciple.

This week we join with the congregations of the Allegheny Synod in prayer for the St. Peter Lutheran Church in Osterburg.

Fellowship Sunday is this following worship.  Everyone is invited to join us in Rohrbaugh Hall.  Meet and get to know the new musicians, Jim Rearick and Michelle McMullen.

With two talented new musicians, St. Paul’s worship services are more inspiring than ever. We want to continue including as many congregants as we can in our services. Worship assistants (assisting ministers, readers, ushers, greeters, etc.) are still needed for October.  The sign-up sheet is on the narthex table, and it will be circulated during fellowship. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help.

Every week Sunday school for kindergarten to six grade at 9:30 AM.  All children are welcome. If you know of a child in that could become a part of this group, please let Pastor Paul know or call the church office at 237-2081.

Blood Drive to be held on Thursday, October 4, from 1:00 PM to 6:30 PM at St. Paul. Reminder: We have a donation box in the narthex for donations to the Food Bank of the State College area. Since we have a monthly fellowship, bringing your food bank donation on that Sunday is a routine you might want to establish. To find out at the current needs are you can consult the website www.scfoodbank.org.

WELCA is planning a re-organizational meeting on Sunday, October 7 following the church service.  Choir members are encouraged to attend following choir rehearsal. A brunch casserole will be provided..  Please bring a side dish to share, but it is not required.  We will welcome new ideas for activities and discussions.

Blessing of the Animals will be Sunday, October 7 during worship.  All household animals sociable with other animals and humans are welcome to attend; or you can bring pictures of   animals for the blessing.

Next PGM Small Area Planning group will meet here at St. Paul on October 3.

Dyslexia Center Fundraiser will be Saturday, October 6 in Rohrbaugh Hall, starting at 6:00 PM following the October Harvest Fest.  See Sally Kolesar for details.

October Harvest Fest is Saturday, October 6, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  A list of snacks needed to help provide hospitality for vendors and help. The snack list is located on the narthex table. You can also talk with Linda Muthler and Judy Wills.

God’s Work. Our Hands is a part of the Harvest Fest this year with the congregation invited to help in several ways as part of our service to the community. Talk with Sally Kolesar or any member of the Harvest Fest team.

St. Paul’s Congregational council will meet Tuesday, October 9 at 7:00 PM in the conference room. Please note: All members of the congregation are welcome to attend the Congregation Council meetings.

Bishop Rhyne invites everyone to the annual Fall Conference Meeting to be held October 16 at 7:00 PM at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Pleasant Gap.

CROP Hunger Walk is five weeks from today. We will gather with others in our community to fight hunger both here and around the world. We need walkers and sponsors for the Sate College CROP Hunger Walk on October 21. Please see Michelle McMullen for more details and to sign- up to be a walker, sponsor, or both. WELCA is planning on a Soup Sale during fellowship on October 21 to benefit the roof fund. The proceeds will be donated in memory of Mel Mehalick. Please bring your own containers.

We are collecting wedding anniversaries and birthdates for the persons in our congregation. Please add your dates to the sheet on the narthex table.

A Children’s Book Fair will be held later this fall featuring Beaming Books.
