Taking part in the Sunday worship experience is a wonderful opportunity to serve our Lord. Opportunities exist in the following ways: become an Usher, Greeter, Reader, Communion Assistant, Counter, Home Visitor, Assisting Minister, Fellowship Sunday Host or the new ministry of making coffee before worship. Sometimes our busy schedules get in the way to serve, however, worship on Sunday morning is a little over an hour and this is the perfect time to serve in most volunteer spots. Please prayerfully consider how you might serve. Contact Linda Rosensteel or the church office to find out more. Training will be provided.
Pine Grove Youth Group will meet on Sunday, July 22 from 3:00 PM -5:00 PM at the Lions Club.
We have resumed collecting food for the Food Bank of State College area. An easy way to remember is to bring your donations on fellowship Sunday.
Prayer Partner Ministry – Would you want to become a Prayer Partner? Contact Jill Lemke (814-769-9022) or sign-up on the sheet on the narthex table. The involvement can be as minimal as keeping each other in daily prayers or as much as you like (calling, getting together for meals, etc). Partners will be paired by Jill Lemke and Linda Muthler. The idea is to encourage new friendships and to have an extra person who keeps you in mind, who cares how you are doing. You not have to leave your home to participate. “Wherever two or more are gathered, I am there.” — Jesus
Lutheran Day at the Altoona Curve —Lutheran Day at the Altoona Curve and the Allegheny Tailgate will be Sunday, August 5, 2018. More information and registration forms are on the table in the narthex.
Our Synod Global Ministries Team is sponsoring Flood Bucket this activity to assist those who are affected by flooding in our Synod or surrounding areas. The buckets will be housed at a local congregation in each conference for the local need and can be easily accessible to other areas if needed. There is no set limit to the number of Flood Buckets that can be prepared. The team is asking that each participating Congregation try to fill the provided flood bucket. More information and list of items needed are listed in the attached flier in today’s bulletin.

Pray for safe travel for those traveling for the National Youth Gathering in Houston, Texas. Pray for young people as they seek to do God’s will in their lives and communities; for those preparing for college; for those who are discerning career paths and educational opportunities. Pray for the work of the Synod’s Youth Advisory Board as they plan a Synod youth event. How is the Holy Spirit calling you to guide and support youth and young people in your congregation and community?
