Join us in celebrating "God's Work, Our Hands" 10th anniversary eventapalooza!  On Sunday, September 8, 2024, Saint Paul Lutheran church will join the ELCA at large in a 2-tiered event benefiting our community near and far.  This is the ELCA's annual day of service when we celebrate who we are as ELCA--one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbors.  As one of our most basic convictions as Lutherans, all life in Jesus Christ flows freely from living, daring confidence in God's grace.

We will convene after worship that day at the Lower Cemetery in Pine Grove Mills (Nixon Road) at 12:30 to scrub some of the more obscured headstones with environmentally safe cleaning solution and some good ole elbow grease.  The event will take place rain-or-shine, dress accordingly.  For an indoor alternative, there will be card-writing to prisoners, shut-ins, and current and former SPLC members.  All activities should be done by 4:30 p.m. that day.

Folks are invited to bring their own bag lunch if they plan to stay after church and get right to work.  SPLC will provide cleaning solutions, scrub brushes, rubber gloves, bottled water, and snacks.  There will be sign-up sheets in the narthex for both events AND commemorative GWOH 10-year anniversary t-shirts.

Please consider this event prayerfully and knowing that this community service will be a visible manifestation of our love for our community.  Every act of service in every aspect of everyday life is a work of God coming through our hands, our "boots on the ground," as it were.
