Announcements

Secretary office hoursSundays from 9am-1pm, Mondays from 1pm-4pm, and Fridays from 10am-1pm. The office will be closed from December 24 – January 8.

Pastor Paul is available by phone 9AM to 8PM Tuesday through Sunday. Monday is his day off, but otherwise, feel free to give a call or send a text! If he does not pick up right away, leave a message and Pastor will try to get back to you ASAP. His local phone number is 814-325-7571. He is always available 24/7 for emergencies.

We are looking for in-person Ushers, Readers, and Intercessors for the month of December. No experience needed! Readers and intercessors are sent their materials by Saturday to read over, and then can read from the screen or from your paper on Sunday morning. Contact Linda Rosensteel at lindarosensteel@comcast.net or Sally Kolesar at kolesarsally@comcast.net to volunteer!

Grocery Shopping HelpStacy Pribulka has been kind enough to offer help to any church member in need of grocery shopping help. Deliveries can be made directly to members’ homes and payment for groceries can be made after given the receipt. All that Stacy asks for is at least a days notice. For those who are interested, please contact Stacy at (814) 548-6585 or pribulkas@gmail.com.

Food Bank Needs: We are now collecting food bank items at the church. Besides the items listed below, they take garden items. To view their currently needed items, please go to https://scfoodbank.org/donate/current-needs-list

The Staff Support Committee and the Council are planning staff reviews. We encourage you to send any comments, positive or negative, on staff performance to Sally Kolesar or Ann Reede (all staff, except Pastor) or to Roger Williams or Linda Rosensteel (Pastor).

Katharina von Bora Luther, renewer of the church, died 1552 – Monday, December 20, 2021

Born to an impoverished nobleman, Katie eventually took vows as a nun, but around age twenty-four she and several other nuns who were influenced by the writings of Martin Luther left the convent. Six children were born to Katie and Martin.

Stewardship Snippets:

Peace is the theme for the fourth Sunday of Advent. We remember that Jesus is, as Micah says, “the one of peace,” the shepherd who cares for us, his flock. Steward/disciples draw near to Jesus and find peace in him.

Micah 5:4–And he shall stand and feed his flock in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God. And they shall live secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth; and he shall be the one of peace.
