Outdoor Services will begin on April 11th starting at 9:45am
Secretary office hours–Sundays from 9am-1pm and Mondays & Fridays from 9:30am-1:30pm.
Pastor Paul is available by phone 9AM to 8PM Tuesday through Sunday. Monday is his day off, but otherwise, feel free to give a call or send a text! If he does not pick up right away, leave a message and Pastor will try to get back to you ASAP. His local phone number is 814-325-7571. He is always available 24/7 for emergencies.
We are looking for Greeters, Readers and Intercessors for the month of April. No experience needed! Greeters just say hi to the people who show up on your screen. Readers and intercessors are sent their materials by Saturday to read over, and then can read from the screen or from your paper on Sunday morning. Contact Linda Rosensteel at email@example.com or Sally Kolesar at firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer!
Grocery Shopping Help – Stacy Pribulka has been kind enough to offer help to any church member in need of grocery shopping help. Deliveries can be made directly to members’ homes and payment for groceries can be made after given the receipt. All that Stacy asks for is at least a days notice. For those who are interested, please contact Stacy at
(814) 548-6585 or email@example.com.
Outreach Opportunity: One of our first goals in establishing Gloria de Dios is to get the written Word of God into the hands of both the children and the adults. To do this we purchased 27 bibles (this includes bilingual story bibles for the kids). Each bible cost $10, so if we can get $270 that would cover the cost of the bibles!
We are also trying to help assist the folks who are members of the Latino community because, as you can imagine, they are facing tough economic times presently. As we enter winter folks will need winter clothes, groceries, gas, and various other things. The idea that our leadership team came up with was to collect gift cards to help in this season.
We are looking for gift cards to Giant, Weis, Wal-Mart, Sheetz, Kohl’s, and the like. (Also, a note: any donations initially for the bibles after we reach $270 will be used to purchase more gift cards.)
St. Paul’s Blessing Box is back! You will find it on the bench in the church porch area. You may donate items for those who need them or take what you need from the box.
Despite the fact that we cannot pick up your Food Bank items at the church, they are still collecting items on Mondays (9-4:30) and Wednesdays and Fridays (9-3:30).
Besides the items listed below, they take garden items. Pickup is contactless, using a bin. If you would like to take a little drive, here is an opportunity to do a good deed. To view their currently needed items, please go to https://scfoodbank.org/donate/current-needs-list
Food Items Needed:
- Canned Fruit (peaches, pears, pineapple)
- Snack Items (granola bars, crackers, chips, cookies, etc.)
- Jelly (grape or strawberry)
- Canned Tuna & Canned Chicken
- Sugar (1-4) lb. packages)
- Laundry Detergent
- Liquid Dish Soap
- Liquid Hand Soap
National Concerns – You may have been hearing on the news about the immigration issues at the United States southern border. No matter what your politics are, it is still a humanitarian crisis. Lutherans have for over 100 years been helping immigrants. Maybe some of them were your ancestors. Today the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service assists immigrants and refugees (www.lirs.org) There is a special Lutheran program, ELCA AMMPARO which assists people from south and central America, providing training to churches and individuals who want to care for people especially minors. AMMPARO vets the immigrants, finds lawyers and foster homes and provides training. Both organizations need donations and prayers. You can find them at www.lirs.org and www.ELCA.org/AMMPARO . If you want any more information please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 877-1830.

“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” – 1 John 1:8
The Creator of all has given us responsibility for our home planet. If we say we have no responsibility for being good stewards of creation, we also deceive ourselves. May we rise to the task and work for the good that God breathes into existence.
