We are looking for Greeters, Readers and Intercessors for the month of February. No experience needed! Greeters just say hi to the people who show up on your screen. Readers and intercessors are sent their materials by Saturday to read over, and then can read from the screen or from your paper on Sunday morning. Contact Linda Rosensteel at lindarosensteel@comcast.net or Sally Kolesar at kolesarsally@comcast.net to volunteer!

For those who are interested, please contact Stacy at
(814) 548-6585 or pribulkas@gmail.com.

Outreach Opportunity: One of our first goals in establishing Gloria de Dios is to get the written Word of God into the hands of both the children and the adults. To do this we purchased 27 bibles (this includes bilingual story bibles for the kids). Each bible cost $10, so if we can get $270 that would cover the cost of the bibles!
We are also trying to help assist the folks who are members of the Latino community because, as you can imagine, they are facing tough economic times presently. As we enter winter folks will need winter clothes, groceries, gas, and various other things. The idea that our leadership team came up with was to collect gift cards to help in this season.
We are looking for gift cards to Giant, Weis, Wal-Mart, Sheetz, Kohl’s, and the like. (Also, a note: any donations initially for the bibles after we reach $270 will be used to purchase more gift cards.)
February Readings:
Date | First Reading | Psalm | Second Reading | Gospel |
2/14 | 2 Kings 2:1-12 | Psalm 50:1-6 | 2 Corinthians 4:3-6 | Mark 9:2-9 |
2/21 | Genesis 9:8-17 | Psalm 25:1-10 | 1 Peter 3:18-22 | Mark 1:9-15 |
2/28 | Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16 | Psalm 4:13-25 | Romans 4:13-25 | Mark 8:31-38 |
Stewardship Snippets:
“For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake.” – 2 Corinthians 4:5
Like the Apostle Paul, we sometimes need to remind ourselves and others that what we do as disciples isn’t about us but about the crucified and risen Christ. Following Jesus makes us responsible toward and accountable to both God and neighbor.

Upcoming Commemorations:
Cyril, monk, died 869; Methodius, bishop, died 885; missionaries to the Slavs; Sunday, February 14, 2021
These two brothers from Thessalonika, Greece, were monks and were sent to bring Christianity to the Slavic people. In the course of their work they created a written language, inventing the Cyrillic alphabet for it, and translated the Bible and the liturgy.
Martin Luther, renewer of the church, died 1546; Thursday, February 18, 2021
Though he began his adult church life as a simple Augustinian monk, Luther challenged the abuses he saw in the church, and his work eventually led to the Protestant Reformation. Luther’s accomplishments included liturgical reform, translation of the Bible, and creation of the Small and Large Catechisms.
