Be glad, you righteous, and rejoice in the Lord; shout for joy, all who are true of heart. － Psalm 32:11
For years, Lent has been cast as being exclusively a season of feeling sad. While, yes, Lent does have aspects of sorrow, that is not the only emotion that can be experienced during our holy springtime. It might not get much attention, but joy is also an emotion that should be experienced through the days leading up to the Great Three Days when we remember our Lord defeating Sin, Death, and the Devil. We aren’t observing Lent while pretending to not know of the Resurrection. So, as we are in the middle of the season, look for the moments of joy and embrace them.
One way to experience joy is to listen to music. This Sunday at 3pm our organist, Jim Rearick, will be giving a concert! As I have had the chances to hear him practicing, I can tell you this: it is going to be great.
Remember: look for the joys!
May God continue to be with you,
Yours in Christ, Pastor Paul+
