I will say to the north, “Give them up,” and to the south, “Do not withhold; bring my sons from far away and my daughters from the end of the earth – everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” – Isaiah 43:6-7
I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39
God is unrelenting in love. For humans, there is a feeling that we are separated from God but God seeks to close this emotional distance. While God abides around us at all times, the experienced distance still is felt. To close this experienced distance, God uses five different roads:
The first road emerges any time we retell the story that God forgives sins and that Jesus has defeated Sin, Death, and the Devil.
The second road is through the gift of baptism, where Jesus is united with the one who is baptized.
The third is Holy Communion where we eat on the very real presence of God’s body and blood.
Fourth is through confessing places we have fallen short and being forgiven.
The final road happens when we meet and converse with other believers.
May you continue to experience the unrelenting love of God,
Yours in Christ, Pastor Paul+
