A blessed All-saints-tide to you!  As we remember the lives of the faithful departed, we often only remember the times they did something impressive because of their faith.  But more often than not, their lives included many small steps and actions in which the work of God was done.  Their lives, including the small parts, pointed toward the life, love, and liberty found in Jesus.

This Sunday, we will remember the saints who have died in the last year, but as we approach this, there are a few small steps that you can take to help your faith journey.

  • First, there is a Time Change.  We are gaining one hour on Sunday.  Worship is at the same time, but make sure to set your clocks one hour back.
  • Second, we will be Voting for Council Members after worship on Sunday.  Council is an organization that shapes the future of our congregation as we journey forward together.
  • Third, our women’s group is having a meeting after worship on Sunday.  They have a standing invitation for those who are interested in joining them.
  • Finally, it is the last days of our Beaming Books Book Fair!  Get books for the kids in your life!  They are great gifts for both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

These are small things, but just because they are small does not make them unimportant.

Let us pray:
Lord God, you have surrounded us with so great a cloud of witnesses.  Grant that we, encouraged by the example of your servants, may persevere in the course that is set before us and, at the last, share in your eternal joy with all the saints in light, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, Amen.

See you on Sunday!
