Worship Service Sundays at 10:45 AM
Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday
What to expect in worship
Our music style: typically pipe organ and piano, but on occasion we use acoustic guitar
Length of worship service: about 1 hour, 10 minutes
How will I know what we are doing? – As you walk into worship, you will be handed a worship packet (sometimes called “bulletin”) that has everything in the service printed it.
Style of worship service: We do what some folks call “liturgical worship.” This means that we use the same basic shape for our worship services that have been used since the early church. In the last two thousand years, the worship service has evolved: we use English and the music we use is generally from the last five centuries.
Bible-based worship: Many of the words we use in our worship liturgy are direct quotations from the Bible. As for the texts we focus on each Sunday, we use the Revised Common Lectionary as our reading schedule. Now, it is not the function of the lectionary to provide all the Bible reading a Christian is to do, rather it allows us to hear four excerpts from Scripture. You can expect to sing a Psalm and hear an Old Testament reading, a reading from the New Testament, and a reading from one of the four Gospels.
Holy Communion: we celebrate Holy Communion (also known as the Lord’s Supper and Holy Eucharist) nearly every week. We do this because we believe it was the practice of the early church to celebrate Holy Communion on a weekly basis. All who have received Christian baptism are invited to receive Holy Communion.
